Sunset Jumpers : Waimea Bay Oahu : Hawaii

I watched locals and the odd crazed tourist jumping into very shallow water from a great height in two different spots today …………. Madness ……… when anyone asked me what they should do in their jump for a better photo ………. I would say: ‘ don’t do it !’ ………. I would literally say ” I have three bullet proof jackets ……. I have been to a pile of wars and done all sorts of risky stuff ………. But there is no way I would jump from that height into shallow water ……. No kidding ……… no way !!!!!!!! “……….. They would all laugh and just go ahead and do it ……… :-/////// Luckily no one was hurt ……… and all seemed to have mega fun……….. :-)))))))) :-/////// ………. There is still no way I would do it myself …….. :-//////

  • Do me favour then… would you mind checking in on Petrocelli’s self build to see whether he’s actually finished it yet? In the show it was in San Remo, but I think it’s actually in Tuscon Arizona (as opposed to Tuscon West Midlands)

  • Three bullet proof jackets? LOL. Why would mostly a mid-level corporate photographer need three bullet proof jackets?

    N. Owens @ June 23, 2014, 8:20 pm

  • Hehehe…. Some of these CEO’s can be pretty scarey hehehe… And even now every now and then I make the odd trip to Iraq or Nigeria bla bla…. Then it’s nice to have a bit of a comfort blanket in Kevlar :-)))))) XXX

  • You know, a bulletproof vest does nothing if you’re shot in the face. But go ahead, and wear three of them.

    JGreyson @ June 30, 2014, 10:21 am

  • Yes yes …… clearly …… but sometimes a level 2A diplomatic protection vest worn unseen below ordinary clothes is a good back up protection set up worn where the primary danger is expected to be a handgun……. other times full on kevlar body armour with ceramic plates and full frag neck and bollock protectors and helmets are the order of the day ….. when the expected dangers include the full array of military weaponry experienced in most modern war zones ……. bla bla …….. depending on what you are expecting to face you make your choices ……. of course despite the terminology bullet proof jackets do not exist ……. body armor is a pretty good idea in most hostile military conflict environs …… i have worked with people who died from AK-47 rounds to the body I have also worked with people who survived them without the body armor…… but hey it woulda been a hell of a sight easier for the survivors if they had been wearing a ceramic plates ……. because they damn nearly did not survive ……. Body armour makes for some risks of its own ….. thats party why u need in my opinion to be wearing the right stuff when u r wearing it ……. so i have 3 different jackets depending on what I am doin…….. I am not wearing them all at once :-))))))))))Cheers Jez XXXXXXXXXXX

    Jezblog CA:-)))))))) XXXXXXX @ June 30, 2014, 5:36 pm

  • “Full array of military weaponry” – you mean standard AK-47s, which will penetrate standard body armor at close combat range.

    JGreyson @ June 30, 2014, 8:49 pm

  • Testing 123

  • No it does not mean only that …….. all sorts of shrapnel and bits of buildings etc flying about as well as all sorts of different caliber bullets…….. bla bla……

    Jezblog CA:-)))))))) XXXXXXX @ July 7, 2014, 12:21 am

  • are part of the stuff that are potential threats in a conflict zone ……… AK47 and other high velocity rounds can go through Kevlar before they are tumbling thats why u need ceramic plates……

    Jezblog CA:-)))))))) XXXXXXX @ July 7, 2014, 12:22 am

  • the rest of this reply simply will not load ……. so that’ll have to be it suffice to say if you really had to go to some of these places you might think differently about the risks and benefits of body armour ….. if it is potentially your life not just an internet conversation your metrics might change :-))))))Cheers Jez XXXXXX
