Thanks for looking at the blog Dave G and thanks for your kind remarks….I certainly agree that by returning to specific subjects repeatedly you are able to build on what’s gone before. Its often a conversation with yourself in terms of taking it forward or not….. and its not always always better every time you return but often you are able to make better individual images because of past experience. Also you go on to develop a body of work that collectively is certainly much stronger than any one off. Today Im again working on taxis from taxis…….

…….er…… I guess what Im saying is……..I know I have a bit of a problem…..just a slight obsession nothing too major……..anyway here it is…… another taxi shot I just made this evening.

  • This is a very good shot in the fact that there is no blur. Just curious as to why the windshield is the item in focus? Anyway, a very good shot and the composition is quite good too.

  • Thanx Kris…Yeah no blur…. usually I prefer the blur shots for their dynamism but its interesting to use a range of thought process and technique to approach a favorite subject…… er…..Joe…the windscreen and the meter ‘are’ the subject and also the frame for the cab beyond……..I often do that….i know its not conventional to leave what is more obviously ‘the subject’ out of focus. In this image it allows you to see the shape that the sweep of the blades leaves on the screen and the light off the dirty screen as well as the interesting detail in the meter …… er ……. at least this is a cheap cab ride!
