Window on Paradise; Guana Cay bahamas

jez11_bahamas_frame2_window The coffee shop at the end of the dock is a great place to watch the world go by while waiting for the last ferry boat. It is run by a great Canadian guy who will tell you correctly it’s pretty cold in Canada right now as all the explanation you could possibly need as to why he is living in Guana Cay.

This image really is defined by its frame. The frame these over the top decorative screen windows create. Its almost like viewing these scenes in the two haves of a locket. I like the guy and the boats, Im less keen on the power cable but hey……..it gives it that authentic element.

  • I find this image messy and flat without any real care and thought having gone into its composition. Perhaps you are new to photography (?), or a little fatigued or burnt out by image making, but I find this a less than average effort. Sorry. Just my 2 cents’ worth.

  • Weirdly I agree its kinda messy. The tempation in the Caribbean is to shoot the single palm tree against the white beach and the blue sky creating the perfect 1986 image bank clean ad shot. Ive done some of that….. but Its not really me…..er…… i generally prefer a bit more grit and reality something that looks real and is more informative of reality…..even at the expense of including power lines…….dont you agree Z ? • I like the frame effect. Keep finding the unusual. Thanks for sharing!
